Happy Two years old Pete!

 Both kids said 'wow' when they got up this morning... so easy to impress, I am sure I will miss this in the years to come. :)

banana counting

1. we are way bananas crazy in this house
2. my kids eat so many bananas that I don't have any left over, ever for banana muffins...another favorite...and I buy a lot of bananas.
3. both kids have to have the bananas left in the skin, Pieper will eat hers while in the skin, Pete takes bites until he reaches where ever the skin is and then peel the whole thing off and come an hand it to you
4. if you make the epic failure of giving one of the children a banana without skin they will run from the room screaming...this is no joke, screaming...and they will put the banana on the counter and only come back for it after a period of at least three minutes, and yes, I have started timing it
5. I am not complaining that they eat too many bananas, just sharing my utter amazement that they can eat so many, avocados, strawberries and apples are a strong second...




They like juice too... orange for Pieper and apple for Pete....

Princess Pieper jammys...

 I made some for her because she was trying to wear her party dresses to bed.  I don't know how long they will last because she wants to wear them every night! She had to show me how it twirled and then I was told to take her picture, this is the one she thought was just right, she had to do it over and over until she liked how it looked.

 Then she went and got her hat and scarf to make her a warm sparkly princess...

 

Random thoughts

We watched a Jake cartoon before dinner tonight and there was a fountain of Pixie dust so everyone was floating around in the air...
Pieper"I wish I could have some pixie dust"
Me" So do I"
Pieper" we should go to the store and buy some".
Me" I am pretty sure you can't buy it at any store"
Putting her finger on her lip Pieper says" no mom, I am pretty sure there is a store in Norwalk that we can get it at."

Pieper's favorite color right now is pink.
Pete's favorite color seems to be blue, I used to think it was because it was the first color he could say but we were in a fabric store today and all he wanted was blue fabric.
Pete randomly tackles Pieper,(sometimes me!) she used to get upset but now she takes it in stride.( mostly)
When either one of them needs to apologize to the other, they do so with a hug that the 'huggie' doesn't always want...
When it is time to pick up their rooms they help each other, mainly because Pieper tells Pete what to do... But the whole concept of putting away is a little lost. Picking up yes, putting away, no. Most toys get put on top of the bookcase, dresser or kitchen. As long as the floor is clear to do summersaults it is clean!
If Pete is hiding he will go so far as to hold his breath... He won't giggle or even move unless he sees you see him. When we are outside he likes to play commando and crawl under the deck stairs and hide...again he won't make a sound unless you see him, of course that only worked the first three times, now I look there first when I can't find him and yes, it is a little dirty under there.
Pete likes to put his hands on my cheeks or neck, look me in the eye and say " mama". Sometimes when I am really lucky he will even give me a kiss. Oh yeah, I eat that up.

Pieper 3 years 7 months

She is very helpful. 
Has taught Pete how to be her puppy.... yes, he fetches...
Loves to make snow angels.
Loves to play princess.
Wants to be a doctor... she has found very clever places to put Pete or puppy on so they can be 'checked out'
Tries to get Pete to do things she just got in trouble for.
Will not always take a nap but will mostly stay in her room for an hour for me.
Still remembers when she went to the hospital to get her arm fix, she brings it up in random conversation.
Reminds me if I haven't given her vitamins.
Loves orange juice.
Told me I roared like a lion at her... that was right before I gave up yelling for lent... :)
She builds things much taller than she used to and puts Pete right on top.
Always needs hot chocolate when we come in from playing outside.
Dresses herself almost everyday.
Will answer the phone and say hello.  She came running to me the other day saying "mommy, it is Aunt Karla, she is your sister!"
Loves to help clean, although I am not fond of her choice of using baby wipes on the windows, it is helpful sometimes.
Sings very loud at library time.
Is getting better at folding clothes.
Loves to grind coffee and push any button but so does Pete... it takes sometime to get some things done around here with at least two people taking turns... :)
We are watching some seeds grow that we planted in baby pots but I thing she likes to go out and look for the flowers we have coming up in the yard more... our Peonies are already coming up! She is very excited for spring when we can plant tomatoes, I just have to figure out how many to plant, she ate almost all of them last year, I didn't have any to save!

 A hat we found at a sale and this is the outfit she put on to match... it was only 30 outside...she wanted a picture by my valentine flowers...

My little teenager going to home depot with daddy on a Saturday, one of her favorite things to do, especially when Pete stays with the mama. She rocks those boots way better than her mama can!

Snow! Again

Sorry I forgot what they have 'named' it.  Took these this morning before we scooped... still snowing!

Nice heavy, beautiful snow.  It snowed all day yesterday with no accumulation, around 10 pm last night it started to stick. Jeff got an early flight home from Minn last night so he missed it all.  Supposed to go until noon. 
Jeff bought a new push shovel... one of those big double hand thingy s... we were able to do the drive in record time this morning... it will have to be done again but that is the fun part! :) have a great day!
