Pieper March

Must wear a t shirt under her clothes in case she gets hot at school... I have tried explaining if she didn't wear the t shirt she wouldn't get as hot but it doesn't work.
She very much likes to take care of things.  We had a visit from baby Lincoln and she was such a little mom, she often tries to teach the class at school, will try to explain what people on the new should do to fix the problem...
Is excited for spring.
Is excited to get to stay for lunch bunch at school.
Walks around trying to figure out what words start with which letters.
Counts, random things, all over.
Is a total FROZEN fan, Jeff ordered the CD, we have watched it four times.
We all walk around singing the songs...except Jeffery.  Even Pete will finish the line.  Of course I loved it, there are snowflakes everywhere!
Is a very sweet little girl.
Even when she gets hit in the mouth.

She decided to be a humming bird one day, just came out of her bedroom...

Peter March... Three!!!

Wants a spiderman cake.  Thanks Aunt Karla!
Still thinks it is to cold outside.  It has been single digits a lot to be fair.
Loves baked kale!!!!! It is crunchy after all.
Always wants to eat a 'big' (uncut) apple but never finishes it.
Loves all kinds of cheese.
Likes to cut with scissors.
Destroys his room, everyday.
Takes off his clothes, everyday.
Says " Mom, I have something to tell you..."
Always wants to be in the workroom if we are in there working with tools.  He even knows where the warm spots on the floor are from the boiler.  Yes, he is often naked...
Hums when he is eating something he likes... until the food is gone. Sometimes he dances.
Always wants to stay and play at school... he must be potty trained before they will take him.
Walked into class yesterday and said "I'm back!"  Both teachers cracked up!
Is struggling with bed time.
Is all of the sudden scared of things like "baxton" from winnie the pooh.
Will cry over different things... a dragon getting hurt, when the new door got put in he cried for the old one... stuff like that... :)
When he gets scared he will hide behind something... a chair, me, or cover his ears...
Is a very picky eater.
Is in the whiny stage, not may favorite.
His check up went good, he has bubbles behind his ear drums we are going to get checked.
He is not pronouncing words as good as he should.
He does not like to eat a lot of frosting...
He got the cake he wanted
He cleaned off spiderman's feet(in his mouth) and took him to his room right away and came back saying how he couldn't wait to play with him...?
 I wanna be a cowboy!
He hugged the clothes he received.
We had his birthday four days late. Jeff was traveling and Pete was sick... this year we waited until he could eat his cake!

It may sound crazy but food keeps me sane. :)

This is how we dress for dinner... if you are Pieper. :)
For as long as I can remember, I baked.  Cookies, breads regular things...it has always and still does relax me.  I can remember even when all of us girls were at home I would be baking cookies and BOTH sisters would swing through the kitchen and eat my raw cookie dough... I still don't get that... why eat it raw when you can have a crunchy cookie in a matter of minutes...?  I digress...

I really have been trying different things lately.  I am very thankful for a husband who gives his honest opinion and never complains at a failure... I have had a few.  Pieper is very good at trying everything, I would have never done that at her age or even beyond.  Pete takes more after me... after one bite he is done.

Just of few of my favorites right now. Trying to make things healthier...without losing the taste...

My new found friend is kale... we have eaten it everyday this week.  I must say it is so easy to use in just about everything.  The only thing I haven't subjected everyone to is the kale with my basted egg for breakfast, that one is just for me for now.
Kale chips, baked in the oven.  Surprisingly good and Pete ate them up!  Just toss with salt and olive oil and bake for 15 minutes... done. Had them again for St Patrick's day... couldn't be more green! Side note, make sure you cook it until crispy or it tastes like kale, lets be honest not the best flavor... :)
I also am having a crush on pumpkin.  I have had since I made my first batch of pumpkin ricotta waffles.  Now I make pumpkin and caramelized onion pizza, Pumpkin, kale cheese 'pops' ( who wouldn't like it all wrapped up in puff pastry?), pumpkin ravioli. Very yummy!  I feel like there isn't anything that wouldn't taste good with pumpkin.  Yes, I have tried to roast it out of a fresh pumpkin but I admit I am using puree now...way less time consuming...

Not to forget carrots... I have been putting them with fennel and white beans, I could eat this daily. But we have always been a carrot family... I made it with crisp flour tortilla bites for the Academy Awards. (yes, I make a big deal out of the award show... remember I worked for 11 years at a movie theatre...I miss those Academy parties every year...)

Wine in cooking... if you use the right wine it really does make the dish... stew, chicken and risotto especially. Give me wine to deglaze a pan and I am in heaven. Of course then you must also have a glass...
I did try to make sourdough bread... it was sour but not quite right will have to keep trying that one...
I have been having so much fun lately trying to come up with different things I had to share... Mom wants me to start writing some of it down... just got me thinking...

I just want to help you, that is why I am on the counter...He is saying 'you'

60 degrees!

Monday was the day!  Fun part of the day was scooping all of the snow into the creek. Pete is the better scooper of the two...I didn't know it was 60... it was warm but it didn't feel like 60.  We can see more grass now, just in time for St Patrick's Day!

Dress it up... Birthday Party!

One of Pieper's class mates had a birthday party at a fun little place.  They had tea at a fancy table,

got to pick what dress and accessories they wanted to wear,
 put on make up...
Kinda looks like she got in a fight don't you think...
She was very monochromatic... yet again...
She had a fun time.

Does not like to pick up her room.
Wants me to take her picture.
Tells me for her 5th birthday she wants to go to Disney World, then to the movie Frozen. ( ALL of the kids in her class have went to both... I mean that sincerely... some have been to Disney more than once.) Just as a reminder, we don't live in FL. :)
Is excited to go to kindergarten.
Is proud and always shows Peter when she cleans her plate.
Always sings in the bathroom.
Is very good at trying to help if Peter is upset, will run get him a toy or blanket...

Is quickly outgrowing all of her pants...good thing warm weather is coming, she has a lot of cropped pants!
Likes to pretend to be a ballerina.
When she grows up she is going to paint the outside of her house pink and purple stripes and buy a poodle.   ( neither will ever happen in my house. :])
She has started, on her own, to practice walking with a dictionary on her head.
Always likes to wear 'Aunt Lelann's' shoes to school.  I think they are the biggest we have... yep looks like her feet are growing fast as well, her Christmas shoes don't fit anymore...
