Talking to Grandma and Sleeping on Grandpa

first month

I can't believe it has almost been a month. Pieper is doing very well. the first couple of weeks we had a lot of doctor appointments. First, Pieper didn't gain enough weight but she has made up for that. At two weeks she was 8 lbs 4oz! Then her bellybutton fell off early so they had to dry out her very cute little bellybutton ( it is an inny!) I was in to my doctor also but all is resolved now. We haven't been to the doctor in two weeks! They do try to get you to the doctor a lot...

Very wonderful to have Mom and Dad out followed by Karla. What a great treat!

I am up now because Pieper just slept for five hours ate and is sleeping again, but as we have been eating every two hours the last couple of days I can't get back to sleep as easily! I will pay for this later today I am sure... :)

We have been trying to get Pieper's eyes used to the great outdoors before we venture on our first walk. Little time outside in the early morning before the sun hits our patio. We look at the flowers, peppers, and tomatoes. We had a bit of heat wave but it has broken. This weekend we have a tropical storm that will send some rain our way so we will be going to the store tomorrow. How fun to always have a food shopping companion! I have been lucky and she has slept through all of the trips so far...

Pieper is doing great at lifting her head, her little arms can't quite pick her front up but her little legs ( if you will remember they liked to tap dance on my insides) can move her around in circles! She is starting to track objects farther away and Mom and Dad brought out my dresser with a mirror on it for a changing table so she really is looking in that a lot now, she won't hardly look at us directly, it is all in the mirror! She has nice long arms and legs, long fingers and the best part I think she has my toes! :) I don't know that she has lost any hair. I did notice today it is shorter in some spots so it could have been falling out while the rest was growing so we never really had a bald baby... mom says it might still happen. The hair is much lighter then when she was born, their is a patch of the dark at the bottom of her head in the back so we can still see the difference. We are thinking she is going to have a little red in her hair! we are excited about that, maybe not as much as Denise! :) Not to sure on eye color yet as Karla says they can change pretty late but for now they seem to be leaning to blue! Blue eyes and red hair can you imagine!

I remember one of the first things mom said was 'do you remember what you did before she was here' and I must say I really don't, she has fit into our lives quite nicely and we feel truly blessed.
