Just things.

Quick note on my hair, I was ready for it to happen, everyone told me it would but am I really going to have any left by the time I am done shedding?
A note on my 'gestational diabetes diet', I am probably one of the few people I know that has gained weight after the baby... i was crazy for cookies and bread after Pieper was born and it shows! :) Happy Holidays!
In light of a lot of this crazy world we live in, I would like to take an opportunity to let you all know how truly blessed we are, not only with our Pieper and each other but for all of our family and friends. We miss you, we love you, we hope to see you at Christmas! :0
If everyone puts some snow in the freezer we may have enough for a snow man when we come back! :) Silly Long Island Sound is keeping all of the snow away!

Oct & Nov pic's

Sorry so late! Most of you have seen Pieper in person by now!

Cough...

Pieper has now found a 'fake' cough. If you don't talk to her or are having a conversation she will give a little cough so you look at her, she is of course smiling.
She slept through the night last night. We are giving credit to the Sub vets Christmas party we went to on Monday, she was up until 9:30, no joke. She just started to get fussy so Jeff took her around to all the tables... she spoke to every one! She is a performer. I think we will be in for some trouble!

wiggle worm

Did I mention Pieper in ticklish... everywhere...
When you take her socks off it tickles her feet... her legs are ticklish as both Grandmas found out at Thanksgiving. Under the chin is the best. My 17 lbs daughter likes try to hide 'things' in the... how should I say it... roll under her chin and when you take a wash cloth under there she goes crazy! She starts laughing and moves right into crying, yep husband she is my daughter there to! She may not look like me but I am in there!!!

four months

We had our four month today. She has her second round of shots, she really does well. she does not like to have her legs held down but as soon as you let go she will stop fussing.
She spoke to every nurse, even the one who gave her shots. A nice long conversation with the doctor... she kept interrupting!
She is now 17 lbs 11 oz and 27" long... yep we have a big baby! The nurse even came back to measure her again because it was such a large jump. She went from being in the 80 something % to being off the charts! That is my baby!
Jeff was the same when he was little so we were waiting for it to happen. It didn't matter to the doctor, she thinks she is growing to fast so we have to go back at 5 months... seems VERY silly to me but i will go back, makes you think they are trying to make a quota!
She eats well and had a growth spurt last week. She has always been a spitter so I think she makes sure she gets enough in there so she can spit some out! I told the doctor she ate 8 oz last night and her eyebrows almost came off of her forehead! Really, it is just before bedtime.
Pieper has been waking up around 1 am... we thought she had a tooth, I can honestly say I felt it but the doctor couldn't find it... uhmm I guess she just doesn't want to sleep. She comes by that natural.
We tried oatmeal tonight for the first time, supposed to make her sleep. She ate that oatmeal off the spoon like she knew what she was doing. Went to bed at seven and woke up at 11... guess that didn't work!
She has been a fussy this week, not her normal easy going self, we are putting that to the travel... we shall see what happens after this weekend. She was with Kem two days in a row...
I know you won't believe this but Pieper already talks on the phone. ( See Jeffery, she is my daughter) I have always put the phone to her when I have been on the phone with Karla and Mom & Dad from the day she was born. Now when you put the phone to her ear she listens and then speaks. Sometimes when she hears dad's voice she gets real quiet but she always looks to the phone like she is trying to find him. She spoke with Jeff's mom on speaker phone tonight. Denise would talk and them Pieper would contribute.

November is gone?

Going back to work has taken its toll. I have missed a month!
But it isn't all bad, Pieper made her first drive to IA and was (of course) a great baby!
She had to like the car, both mom and dad like to drive! We stopped in Toledo overnight both ways, Jeff's idea, that is why I married him. I would have tried to go straight through. It was nice to take it slow for a change and Pieper has now stayed in 3 hotels! I was in my 20's before I did that! Think of all of the states she will be able to list off in school that she has been to... :) Advantage: east coast.
Pieper had a wonderful party to meet and greet at Stacey's home ( thank you) that she slept right through, with a brief wake up where she wasn't happy.
Thanksgiving worked really well this year both sides of the family were in Des Moines. She met her Grandma & Grandpa, Aunts and uncle and cousins on Jeff's side, she is just waiting to meet Uncle Stephen!
She sat on her Great Grandma and meet almost all of my extended family, missing one cousin with his wife and new baby Preston.
To quote Aunt Karla "don't you love it when your child performs well" She was great, she talked and sang, even giggled. We are blessed with a very good baby. She is happy, happy, happy.
Not shy yet either although we do think she might be getting attached to me... not that I mind!
It was wonderful seeing family and friends and yes I have pictures, but I haven't gotten them loaded yet!
