Therapy of the best kind.

I found out today a dear friend has passed away. She will be sorely missed. She gave a good fight as only she would. Such and amazing example in every way.
This is how the kids were playing together tonight. I know you had something to do with it,
Love you Rita.

Daily Giggles

'Mommy look little airplane go to airport to see big mommy and daddy airplane!'

Eating oatmeal this morning (all three of us) I am almost done with mine and Pete is doing pretty good... Pieper had to have Cheerios to put on hers to go with the blueberries so she was a little pokey. She had over half of her bowl left and her bowl is the same size as mine. I went to fill my coffee cup and when I turned around her bowl was empty. How did she do that?

Pete, Pieper and the mama were all doing crazy baby at the table together. :)
Pete is very good at peek a boo, especially when Pieper covers his face up with a blanket and he takes it off, giggles galore!

Baking fun.

So my not so secret passion is baking. Cookies and bread and deserts of any kind seeming to be the most favorite. I do also like cooking in general but theses things bring me the most 'joy'. The smell from bread and cookies alone is enough to make me smile. Lets face it, I have always baked when I was stressed out so it is a stress reliever as well... not that I have much to be stressed about these days. HA!
Since Peter was born I have a sneaking suspicion that my cholesterol is high, while it does run in the family the extra weight I still have from Pete is not helping. Yes, I will go to the doctor soon to check things out formally but until then I have been trying to modify the foods I love so I can still eat them. Okay lets rephrase, I would eat them anyway, I am just trying to make them healthier. :)
What have I been doing... it started with making my oatmeal into flour, adding wheat flour and flax seed to all things right down to the pizza dough and waffles. I am happy to say that after about six or so months of playing I think I can safely modify any recipe to include these much healthier options without altering the results of the intended cookie or bread. Don't get me wrong I still am using white flour too, just not as much.
I am sharing today because I am very proud of my coconut macaroons (Grandma Bauer's recipe, you know the one!) that are coming out of the oven right now. Although, I do think I will cut back on the sugar even more, they don't seem to need it, I think the flax and things give wonderful flavor! ( I already cut back on sugar from the original recipe)
With the modifications and the addition to coconut M & M's ( something else I happen to think is fantastic) i am happy to say I love these cookies! Pieper is of course eating them up but that isn't really a true test as she does that with most of the things I bake.
The 'P's' are calling, have a great day!

Random

Cool dude.
Favorite pastime. the door has opened once.
Really
Gimmy that!

Daily Giggles

Pieper yawns:
"I just yawning, I not tired, okay"
Pieper discribes something she is going to do or want you to do as you are playing and at the end comes "alright?" You must answer this or she will continue to ask.
Pete loves to 'attack' Pieper, it she cries he laughs and goes at her again!
When both kids are crying we look at each other and laugh. What else can you do, it is funny.

Pete 11 months

It does not seem possible.
He is such a good walker! My favorite is to watch him walk to the middle of the room and try not to sit down. :)
He has seven teeth with those other ones still giving us trouble.
He does not have wide feet so size 4-1/2 it is! High arches from his mama though.
Doctor is still concerned with his weight. He is right at 21 lbs. He is the heaviest 21 lbs I have ever carried. Between the teeth and the flu we all had it is hard to get weight on him to make the doctor happy. Mark my words one of these times we will go in and he will weigh to much! He still has his Popeye arms and chubby legs so we are not overly concerned.
LOVES to dance to singing or any kind of music. He has good rhythm. Gets that from me for sure! :)
Loves to play with puzzles, especially when Pieper is trying to put it together.
Climbs much better than I would like. Onto chairs, Pieper's bed, any boxes that may be about.
Likes books, will pick them up and look at them without prompting. Especially the not my puppy and not my rabbit books... they have fluffy things in them. Wouldn't of course have anything to do with how much he loves to pull the books off the shelf... :)
Loves to swing.
Likes to touch the TV. Naughty Pete.
Loves Mickey, I know he shouldn't be watching any but when the song comes on he starts to dance! Way cute, he dances the hot dog better than Pieper right now!
Is a KISSING BANDIT! Loves it, will kiss Grandma and Grandpa or anyone for that matter on the phone after saying hello. Sometimes he even hangs up the phone.
He sleeps at the end of our bed so in the morning when he gets up he will grab Jeff's feet to let us know he is up and ready to come out, in case we didn't hear him.
He gasps when he sees something he likes. ie: ceiling fan, mirror
Likes to do things with his feet.
Likes to look out the window. Climbs up onto Pieper's bed to pull open her curtains to see out.
If it is to quiet just find Pieper, he will be watching her.
Likes to give her hugs and kisses at night but Pieper like the hugs more than the kiss... go figure.
Sings randomly.
Starting to say Bye, bye.
Does touchdown when prompted. (arms up)
Loves his soft blanket.
Does peek a boo all by himself. Such a flirt.
Has a very funny fake cry. Oh the faces he makes. He doesn't get a chance to really let go to often as we are usually trying to keep one or the other quiet as to not wake one or the other.
Likes to be in the bathroom especially when Pieper is trying to go potty. Throwing things in the tub and making loud noises is very fun.
Likes different toys than Pieper, of course he has more toys than she did at this age too.
He gets hot like his mama.
He is wearing size 18-24 mostly because it gives him a little breathing room and he is a little long.
He always is working on his tongue trying to feel those teeth.
Love to play with Pieper and is getting much better at catching up with her. In response she sometimes crawls up onto anything she can to get away. Sibling love.

Daily Giggles

Now where would she get this idea...?
where is Pieper....
There she is.

Peek a boo!

We seem to do a really good job at keeping busy. :)
Everyone is healthy.
Pete is walking much more now, we went and bought him shoes yesterday and had our first lunch, just the three of us. It went very well. Pieper ate a pesto, chicken, asiago panini. Who knew. Now if I could spell it.

Fun things the kids say is going to be my Daily Giggles (DG) for short. I always forget them so I am just going to start adding them when I think of them.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

See how much fun we have trying to get a picture!
Jeff work day is starting off pretty sweet:
Friday
Donut day
Pizza Day
Jeans Day
Pay Day
Bonus Day
Birthday!
Does life get much better?

Where have we been... well long story short;
Jeff was gone to CA for a week
Pieper got the flu on Friday for two days
Pete got it on Monday for two days
and yep you guessed it I got it on Wednesday. I did eat breakfast this morning and I didn't sleep like a zombie so I would say it is gone. Wahoo!

05 February 2012

Super bowl sunday, Go Patriots!

Yep, that boy needs a hair cut soon.... :)
Pieper love to hold Pete when we let her, for about 10 seconds or until he pulls her hair, so you have to be fast.
Playing with Daddy.

The elusive Pieper standing still, I asked her to say hi to Great Grandma in this picture and it worked! (she is saying the 'ma' part right here... can you hear her?)
Pieper is having her first run at the flu. Much fun and late nights. I thought it was gone but it came back in the middle of the night with a vengeance.
Pete tries to love on her every chance he gets... and he is much faster at getting her now.

02 February 2012

We had a little snow....

Pieper and I made snow angels... kind of hard to see but they are there.
Pete just sat in the snow for a little bit.
