Very proud

I am one of those 'clean mom's' I am not really excited about letting Pieper get to dirty. I know kids will be kids... so I do try.

Today we walked down to the beach. We sat in the sand and the surf and she threw wet sand everywhere, she let the 'waves' cover her feet and them promptly sat down in the water giggling the whole time. The 'waves' kept coming in and she just sat there laughing and splashing.

I am very proud of myself and Pieper, but we did walk back to our blanket where I changed all her clothes and wiped her down, as good as you can when sand is involved... :) before we walked home. :) Fun had by all.

11 month old today...

Some animal ate my lily bulbs my mom got me for my birthday, Pieper was intrigued by the hole I was looking in, she looked in sideways with me... both bulbs are gone, I think it is the same animal who digs in my potted tomatoes...

Pieper loves to be outside, she doesn't mind the grass and she loves to pick the flowers off the plants and hand them to you.

She will hand you anything she finds on the floor no matter how small, sometimes just a fuzz, I wonder if she is trying to tell me to vacuum more so she can laugh and the machine?

Believe it or not...

She will come up and let you know she needs a new diaper, and will follow you, walking the whole way into the bedroom to be changed.

She can sometimes walk so quietly she can go all the way through the kitchen to try and get to the glass on the side table, mind you she started in front of the table with Jeff telling her she couldn't have the glass. Next thing we know she is coming through the doorway... tricky.

She likes to dance to the music on the start of "The Office".

She had such crazy hair going on I couldn't help but take pictures!

She is getting four more teeth in, they have all broken through they just need to work their way out.

Total teeth=12

Walking... no problem

She lets go and walks now more than she holds on.

She will start to run at you and then close her eyes because she knows you will catch her.

She started to snort when she laughs, now that is funny.

I was putting on her shoes before we went for a walk today, she kept curling her toes it took me 15 minutes to get them on, of course I started laughing so that didn't help.

Pieper will now laugh with you... maybe another reason it took 15 minutes to get her shoes on! Can you see the two of us sitting on the floor laughing, we are silly.

I have been putting barrettes in her hair and she leaves them alone.

She loves to pick up the glass full of water I leave on the floor and try to drink out of it, to her credit, she does get some in her mouth.

Sorry Dad, you didn't break that habit but at least it isn't milk!

Hope everyone back home is drying out.

Pieper does not sleep all the way through the night.

She likes spinach, fish, broccoli, squash, sweet potatoes, corn, green beans, cheese, strawberries, bread, carrots, bananas, apples, pears, mangos, and lemon in yogurt or tarts. Long story short, she likes everything but eggs. :)

She likes her shoes on for a little while then she finds them annoying.

She stands but doesn't know it.

She takes steps when she has something to go to, but she will run from you if she is holding onto the couch. (laughing the whole time)

She loves to flip the pages of books.

She will not say Da Da, today she shook her head no when I asked her to say it.

Her hair is getting so long it is in her eyes, mom told me to cut it... no way, not ready for that!

She will soon be drinking milk, no I did not ask the doctor but she is almost 11 months.

She loves to snack on cherrios or baby fish. I have made a snacking baby... shocker.

Baby Genius Cloth dipers rock.

I planted a Hope Lily last year when I was pregnant, it is in full bloom this year. :)

Pieper and I waited for Jeff to get off of work on Friday at the Delamar by the water.

The weekend

We were in Vernon for the weekend, Jeff has finished the deck. Looks very nice! We bought a good pair of shoes this weekend, she of course figured out how to untie them right away but she walks in them well.

Pieper and I went strawberry picking, she is a very good, very quick picker/ eater, for some reason she liked the green ones? I am sure I looked quite comical trying to stop her from eating green berries all the while picking some red ones to take home.

We had to outrun some severe storms to get back to Greenwich. Dumb driver award goes to the silly person in the SUV who stopped, in the fast lane, under an overpass because the rain was coming down so hard I guess they just couldn't see so they decided to stop in the middle of the road. Pulling over is fine, it was really coming down, not in the middle of a lane of traffic...?

I think more teeth are coming in, it is like niagara falls down her chin right now.

She likes to give open mouth kisses and make popping noises and grind her teeth!

She also likes to argue. Where would she get that?
