Who needs to sleep?

Pieper has been fighting going to sleep for the past couple of nights. She is so very excited to see me when I go into the room that is really makes it hard to not respond accordingly.
I watched her today, pick up the binki from her lap, look at it and put it in her mouth, the correct way... until that moment I thought she was just spitting them out at night to see Jeff and I crawl around on the floor looking for them but now I am sure she is actually throwing them! we have lost two already, we bought two more. I am already missing one of the new ones! How is this possible when we live in a four room place you ask? I have no idea but there it is!
Tonight she was really fighting sleep so I put the Eeyore in the crib with her and withing minutes she was out! I don't know if this is a good thing to start but it is done. sorry for the blurry photo, I took it with the phone.

Amazing

I am amazed how much a 2 foot person can take over the house. Sometimes I worry I am spoiling her just a little but isn't that the fun? :)
She is trying to stand up by herself, when she has you by the fingers she will let go... it is then your job to catch her! I am pretty sure Jeff missed her once!
Pieper is very ticklish almost everywhere. Mom tells me not to tickle her so much but if you heard her laugh you couldn't resist either!
She has started fighting going to bed at night... of course she goes down between 6:00 and 8:00, we can't seem to get her on more of a schedule. No complaints as she is sleeping through the night most nights. She has started taking the pacifier at night instead of having to eat which is easier.
I am grateful for family
Gotta go, fish and chips are here!

I must ask the question, can any of you believe leg warmers are back? If only we would have kept all 10 pairs we had growing up...!!!

5 month apointment

Doctor visit went great. She is 27-1/2" long and 20lbs... yep she is wearing 12 month size.
She really enjoys her jumper. She can turn the seat all the way around and stand flat footed if she wants to.
The walker works better in the kitchen, when she is barefoot she can really move across the room, gets stuck in the hallway or under the table but soon she will learn to get herself out of those kinds of jams.
We are thinking she will slim down with the new toys, although I have to say she has a pretty flat belly, I think she is holding those lbs in her arms and legs. I hope she doesn't lose her cheeks, at least not for a while. :)

2010 is how old?

I have already been to NYC twice for work this year and it is only Tuesday.
Pieper now sits in her high chair, I can't wait for everyone to see how wide she opens her mouth when she sees her oatmeal! :} The pictures are on the computer in the office/Pieper room! She is sleeping...
We have ordered a walker and a jumpy chair, boy are we late on that one... she has always liked to stand up and walk, why we didn't think of it sooner I don't know but they should both be here tomorrow, I am very excited to see her reaction.
She has rolled over a couple of times, not lately unless you help her. She is getting much stronger in the arms, for a while I was thinking she had Aunt Karla's weak (in high school) arms... :) just kidding, inside joke!
She has always had a really strong head so that hasn't ever been a worry.
We have to go into the doctor on Thursday for a 5 month check up... are you ready for this, they thought she grew to fast last month... she is off the charts on height and weight, she was in the 75% for both... sorry if that is a repeat but I still think it is silly.
Pieper loves to smile at her Daddy. It has become tradition that Mommy gets to sleep late after being up in the night ( she very rarely sleeps all the way through ) This is when Pieper and Jeff have the most fun, she tells him all kinds of good stories. She is an early morning talker... gee Dad do you think she gets that from me? Gotta get that on tape!
Jeff is in Minn MN for three days, he taped himself on the phone giving Pieper 'num nums' and I play it for her, she smiles and listens, I think she was looking for him tonight. The phone video helped with that, what a wonderful invention. She has always been good on the phone... wonder where she gets that?!
I think her eyes may be changing. They are and will be beautiful no matter what color. Karla warned me Trevor's changed from blue to green when he was older and they may be doing just that, to hazel anyway.
Time to go watch the Iowa game, Pieper is sleeping so I cheer into a pillow... If it gets to bad I go outside, what do you think the neighbors think about that? Just that crazy girl from IA dancing on her patio again... :) Go Hawks!!! Jeff just loves to watch me watch a football game...

Happy New Year

We are very thankful for our family and friends this new year and our growing family... we don't even remember what it was like before baby. :) We had some snow yesterday and last night but today was a good sunny day and we just stayed in.
We are going to take the tree down tomorrow, Pieper's first Christmas over already?? It flew by. The snow in IA kept us from seeing a lot of my family but we were able to see all of Jeff's this year as Stephen was home from Alaska.
I still find it hard to believe we were there a week. A person waits all year for something that is over so very fast! Must start planing for next year. :) Hope you have all had a wonderful and safe new year, more to come....
