Daily Giggles

Pete likes to be under, over, and on top of everything.
Pieper just made me a snack:
Green eggs and ham and wine all packed up in a box... I think that sounds perfect!

Yep, this is where we were married. Today after I went to the bathroom... sorry is that to much sharing...? Any who Pieper clapped and did the happy potty dance for me, talk about a humbling experience, I now think everyone should have such an ending to a trip to the bathroom... :) Very uplifting. :)

Happy 1st Birthday Pete!!!!!

I can not believe it has been a year... well around 7 PM it will be exact but how time flies!
I came home yesterday to find Jeff had cut some of his hair while I was gone so the picture I took on Friday is outdated all ready but it is still a nice picture! ( we will discuss husbands cutting babies first haircut without me at a later date)
Pete babbles, mostly mama, baba and versions of that. Every once and a while some other sound comes out... (bye, bye)
He walks and walks and walks, sometimes when he is on the grass he chooses to crawl, like when the ground is wet.
He has started to chase Pieper around the rooms.
He has been eating non pureed food for a while now, he is normally hungry after a little while as he likes to play with his food...
He tries to play with Pieper all the time, sometimes she doesn't want him to but she is getting better at enjoying some playtime with him. (when she is in the mood to share!)
He likes to point at you.
He likes to play catch.
He likes loud noises, coffee grinders, vacuums... will come into the room just to be near them.
He likes cars and things with wheels and balls of any shape.
He had a taste of ice cream yesterday and he will take a lick and do a little wiggle because it is so cold. (way cute)
Does the best hip swinging dance when hears music.
He does a slow blink with both eyes when you tell him no...
I asked Jeff what else he did and he just said he doesn't listen...
He will hand you his blanket before getting out of his bed, yesterday he handed me three!
He like to drink out of sippy cups.
Not to sure what to do with spoons...
He likes to make noise with the back of his hand and his mouth.
Loves to put things "in" and take them "out".
Likes to peek.
Climbs, everywhere, his favorite is the dresser and to the top of the couch.
Still kisses the phone when people call.
Lays his head down on you for a hug.
Looks at books and loves to point and feel textures.

Mouse in the house, named Pete!

Not only does he love to take little nibbles out of EVERYTHING, he can also squeeze into the smallest spaces. Of course then he gets stuck!
His new favorite trick it to climb up on the couch, like Pieper does to get away from him. It doesn't work so good any more... poor Pieper. Side note here, he climbs on everything. I have heard little boys are daredevils and we seem to have one on out hands. He is pretty steady on most things but it still takes my breath away to watch.
He does not crawl. He walks and he is fast. The saving grace it that he still makes a little noise so at least you can hear where he goes most of the time.

Beach weather

We spent some time at the beach yesterday. It was hot by the time we left we just started out in layers, of many colors in Pieper's case.
Pieper was in the water well over her wellies but loved every minute.
Pete walked all over the sand as if he had been walking for longer than a month and he kept wanting to walk into the water.
Fun day!

Likes to pull them all off the shelf and read his favorites, especially the puppy book with fuzzy ears.

Pieper 2 years 8 months

She is a very good helper.
She does not like to go to bed. It is at least a two hour process. I have started gating her in her room which seems to be working.
She sometimes loves Pete to much and other times she runs from him yelling 'little man coming'
She is doing very good with counting and recognizing numbers.
I stopped trying to potty train her a while back and she has started going 'all by herself' you should see the sticker calendar we have on the wall! Still a work in progress.
The marker on her leg is for Aunt Pam's wedding. Every time I give her paint or markers she will paint herself 'for Aunt Pam's wedding' *sigh*
Books. Books. Books. Still likes them and we get about six from the libraries each week along with her own.
Climbs up high to get away from Pete.
Is constantly making castles out of everything she can stack, some of them are very good. We read a Fairytale book with about 20 stories, I think that is where she got that.
She serves food to Daddy, mommy and Pete. Most things turn out to be cupcakes.
She paints with everything... do you see a theme, I guess her imagination is kicking into overdrive.
Seeing her 'tip toe' ALWAYS makes me laugh. Even this morning when she was tip toeing quietly by Pete and promptly woke him up.
When we went to CVS yesterday I asked her what I said I needed and she told me. Amazing little tape recorder came in handy! :)
She had a follow up eye appointment, her eyes are fine, she was talking to the nurse and said something about tripping and breaking her neck, where to you think she heard that? The nurse just looked at me in a strange way so I had to explain myself.
She is good enough to jump up for me when I need to lift her up... I am not sure if I am weak or she is heavy but the jump sure does help!
Likes to get and give 'little bear hugs' and 'big bear hugs'. Thank you Grandpa Bauer.
He tantrums are becoming fewer, thank you.
