what are the odds...

The dish your child breaks was one from your grandmother that was her mothers...
The plant leaves your child breaks is the one you started from seed and is now 3 feet tall.
The lotion your child thinks would be the most fun to open, put a make up brush in, and lose the top to is your eye cream that is your one splurge...
Your child always hits you right in the eye.
Your child will spill milk when you get up from the table for a second.
Somehow the bathwater will be on the floor when you go back to the bathroom...
The pillows and blankets that are on the couch have just been folded for the third time today are on the floor.
The floor you just steam cleaned had been peed on.
The page in the book that just got ripped is from the library.
The very second you try to listen to a comedy show on the radio, they start using bad language.
The bathroom door will be opened before you are finished.
Extreme quiet is followed by immense screams.
Things you think are high enough on a shelf or back far enough on a counter will go missing.
You spend half your morning scouring the stove top only to boil water over at lunch.
You load the washing machine and hit the button but don't stay to make sure it starts and it doesn't... start that is.
You hear "I'm hungry" 30 minutes after feeding the kids breakfast.
Your glass of lemonade will be shared by three people.
The minute you sit on a couch you are attacked, all within one cushion of space and your husband can sit on a couch all by himself. That is three cushions of room folks....
Your daughter finds a baby toad and instead of bringing it up to the window like Daddy she brings it inside.
You take your car in for an oil change and walk out with more than just an oil change...
You have a couple of kids who make you laugh, cry, smile and scream everyday.
Good odds in this house.

teacher...

See Peter, this is how you play this game... they are both better than I am at it.

Pool time!

Safe to say this is the only picture I am going to show you... they both decided it would be much more fun to take off all of their swimsuits and play in the water that way... I know several people who would agree to this... and you know who you are! :)

Pete is painting a pig we had to make because he wanted one like Pieper's that she made at school and he was very certain he didn't want any help, nor was he ready to be done.

 Not done!
Pieper is making the pots we gave to her teachers for the end of year.

Outside.

 She found a little toad!

 Checking out the bugs.
Helping put away the mower.

Not sure if you have heard...

We have been having a lot of rain.  In fact in less than a month we went from a record drought to the fifth (?) wettest year ever... silly.  Should make for a great fall!
When you are outside and you have cookies in the oven and your child says 'mommy smoke is coming out of the house!' your heart stops a beat.
It took me a minute not to think the house was on fire...  it was so steamy because it was the first sunshine of the day and it only lasted for 20 minutes.
If you are wondering if we have any mushrooms the answer is yes, they pop up one day and are gone by the next, I am not to sure who is eating them... especially the grey ones...  but I never did see any morels...

tree climbing...

I had to cut a tree down that was broken by the wind and I ended up making it a 'tree fort' on the ground, they played in it for a couple of weeks.   Nobody wanted to look at the camera.

Pieper 3 years10 months

She very helpful, for a small bursts of time. :)
She is still very dramatic.
She has picked up some habits from school I am not fond of.
She likes to get Peter to do things she knows are wrong.
She does not like to pick up by herself.
She is very good when we go to a store.
Likes to go in the car.
Likes to play outside and pick leaves and pine cones to 'feed the birds'
Will make up stories, I don't like to call it lying yet as her daddy is very good a storytelling... :)
Gets very silly when you want to take her picture.
Likes looking at her artwork hanging on the walls.
Says she wants a lot of things for her birthday.
Sings when she goes into the bathroom.
Likes Beauty and the Beast.  I asked.
Likes spaghetti and hamburger.
Loves to spell her whole name and tell you where she lives.
She seems to have forgotten some of her letters?
Changes clothes about 4 times a day.
Will try to get your attention if you are talking to Pete.
Is good at brushing her teeth.
Always wants to exercise. Especially if she gets to use a 'band that stretches'
Will sometimes start 'talking in Spanish'. It sounds more like some kind of  'twin talk'/
If she is counting or saying prayers or singing she will get upset if you try to help her to soon.

Jack in the pulpit

The small one is one I was very excited to find early this summer, I just found this one about two weekends ago and moved it by the other... as I have never seen one that tall.  It has a twin that I will try and get next year.  How old can it be?  So far the transplant is going well.
before I moved it.
