Weekend fun

 We got our bees... let the honey begin!

 First strawberries of the season!

 Fleet week in NYC... what a great way to spend Memorial Weekend... thank you to our troops, past and present.... I was the crazy lady who teared up touching the ship and equipment.! :) Forgive Pete and his silly smile... he thinks it is pretty funny these days...

 Was so very excited to be on deck of the ship with an Osprey....We saw it flying the day before...

 Jersey shore behind them... Jeff goes to one of the smaller buildings on the right for work sometimes...West side walk way...Pete is not sleeping here, he is "pretending"

Has dragons that live in Un nun nuna world... he always wants me to drive him there, if you know where that might be please let me know. :)
Does not like to go to bed.
Eats on his own schedule...and has to be bribed to eat some things... at least it works now.
When he goes for walks his legs always get tired and he wants to be carried...about 20 feet into the trail.
Loves the 'squinties' in the yard.
Breaks out into song, all the time. Usually one from school.
Always picks blue flowers to buy.
Likes bugs, frogs, toads... all but bees, but he was stung last year...
Loves honey and is excited to get the bees this summer.
Will listen to Pieper read her books and if she struggles on a word he tells her what it is...good memory.
Will for a moment, sit in his room and read to himself.
Says some of his 's' and 'f' in the right place.  He is getting more complicated combinations according to the teacher he is just going at it backwards by missing the easier parts... I like to think of it as he is going his own way... :)
Still loves to karate chop.  Jeff took him to a birthday party and they put the kids in a room of bubbles and he was going crazy popping them with 'chops'.  We have popped bubbles here forever...I get to stay up on the deck with a beverage and they run all over the yard, works like a mini vacation!
Will play tackle with Pieper until Jeff has pity on her and plays tackle with him, it is not Pieper's favorite game.
Before he makes a running tackle for Jeff he will hide behind the chair, take a deep breath and come out in one of his superhero poses...
Wants to buy all the toys in the world when he is older.
Kicks a soccer ball like he knows how to play... another mother told me that.
Has very fast reflexes, told to me by one of his teachers, my answer... he has to he 'glides' from dressers to beds and jumps from couch to couch...

Pieper April 2015

 She wrote me a shopping list...

 We tried to make a kite... it did not fly... she did not mind.  She rarely goes outside without her 'explorers bag on...

Is very excited she is 5-3/4.  Will tell everyone.
Is a big helper at school, all the teachers tell me that...
Is still a little mama.
Is down to two outfits during the week a day but weekends are a free for all on how many different ones we see.
Sometimes wants hair like Pete, especially  if she has a lot of snarls.
Likes to pretend to be a teacher and Pete is always her pupil.
Love to go anywhere with Mom or Dad especially if Pete stays home.
Is scared a little bit of bugs...but will always tell Pete to pick them up.
Loves frogs and toads.
Informed me she and Pete needed new garden gloves, they have grown out of theirs.
She got to plant flowers at school for earth day and was very pleased to tell me she was the only one of her class that 'loosened up' the roots. ( just like you told me to mom...)
Will come out at night and tell you how high she has gotten in her counting... by ones or tens or fives...
Is very 'windy' in her story telling... :)
Likes for Pete and herself to wear 'matching' Pj's whenever possible.  ie: mickey mouse or footed
Wants to be a music teacher when she grows up.
Some of my favorite conversations with Pieper are the ones she has with her Dad before bed... I don't always get to know exactly what they talk about but it fills my dreams... :)
