Pieper January 2014

She loves school and is excited to go to 'five year old' class.
I don't know that I am ready for all day school even though it will be very good for her. I registered her yesterday... so big so fast.
She still remains very helpful.  I love this most of the time unless it causes problems with Pete.
She likes to dress mono chromatically. She dresses herself.
Is getting better at remembering her letters, she has forgotten all that she knew when she was two... It seems that way to me...
Likes math, to her father's joy.
Talks about all of the cousins she saw over the holiday and is wondering if we will see them 'next week'.
Soup is her favorite food.
Thinks we should go to Disney World...'lots of kids at school have went already'
Loves to be silly.
Likes to tell Peter how and what to play in true big sister fashion.
Will make her bed if I tell her to but has yet to do it without being reminded.
Now likes pink AND purple for favorite colors.
Has been having a few nightmares...
Misses the Christmas tree but we still have the mantel decorated...there are snowflakes in there... it works.
Likes to play with girls more than boys...
Likes to go high on the swings...
Loves yogurt but her eating habits are changing...
Likes to go out of the house, like to the store with anyone who is going!
Has started to wonder how long it will be until she is five... way to soon for me! :)
Very proud of the outfit she made for Belle out of some tights we cut off.
Yes, she dressed herself, note how the tights match the boots.

Remember these days...

This is what you get when he doesn't take a nap and you put on a program so you can get dinner ready.
Sigh*
Hanging out in the hall while Daddy gets ready for work. Yes, that is the Kindle... we have just lost the kindle...

Milestones...

I sit here writing this as I have had almost an hour with out any screaming of any kind.  They have been going from her room to his room and giggling in between.
Some may not think of this a victory but for me it is huge.  Some moments it is very hard to remember how blessed we are and sometimes a person doesn't get enough quite time to even think about it... until around midnight anyway. :)
Fewer things are more endearing to this mom than when the siblings are actually getting along an being kind to each other, all of the craziness is working!  I am under no illusions that this will last... probably be over before I post but I wanted to document it just the same.
Now if I could just find the missing Kindle so I could read a little! :)  Last seen in the hands of Peter...missing for over a week now...

Look Peter, it says... Happy Anniversary, love Daddy!

Baking soda snowman! (Thanks Aunt Kate!)

 Mixing the dough.
Great fun!  Pieper loved forming the snowman, Pete didn't want to give any up!
 Our snowman...
 Before the vinegar.
He is melted into foam!  They both did a great job of pouring.
 Searching for snowman parts.
Pete liked playing in the after foam and did so for about a half an hour.... very messy but a good time.

Christmas program at school

Pieper was the star!  :)  It was the story of Christmas with a few songs thrown in, a fun time for lunch and Daddy was able to come up from work!

Pete loves the magnifying glass at school... Sherlock for Halloween....?

yummy food.  that is Pieper's centerpiece she made right next to her... we picked it out across the room, she makes sure she really decorates her art projects.
ity bity cupcakes...

December snow in CT, whahoo!

Snow fun before we left for Iowa in December....  We have had some great snowfalls this year!

 Side by side snow angles....
Look mom, Snow castles!!!!  Sorry for the non cropped or non fixed pictures.... we don't have anything set up on the computer to do that right now.
Pete loves to shovel, thanks to Aunt LeLanne as Pieper calls her we now have two small shovels!  Not more arguing (over that) :)
