more snow

Our fence. total snow for the two days, 17"-20". Beautiful!Getting the cars out.
it begins.... my poor husband had no help, snow was to heavy for me this time around. I think he went out at 6:30 and didn't come in until 8:00, took him that long to scoop the walk to get to the cars, landlord did the drive after he moved the cars.
We are lucky as there are still a lot of people digging out today! I was into work by 9ish and I was the only business open on my block in the AM! We see dump trucks driving by with loads of snow, we think they are going down to the beach... they just don't have anywhere to put it all! We will have piles until March!

snow...

I guess since you don't know how tall the bushes are this doesn't mean very much but it is still pretty. The piles of snow are taller than jeff now in spots. My poor little buick drove right out! :)

our patio, before we started scooping. When I opened the screen door it moved the snow on the ground.
Pieper loves to be pushed or pulled in the clothes baskets! (thanks to her cousins) We throw pillows on top of her and pulled her around the house, she stayed under the pillows until I called for her then she would push them out! Here I am mama!

Hide and seek

Baby likes to hide from Jeff. The baby really moves a lot but as soon as I tell jeff to watch or feel baby runs away and goes to sleep! He thinks I am telling stories... :) Sometimes I think the child is trying to get out early and other times baby is up in my ribcage!

a few of my favorite things

- the way Pieper will look at you with her head down and eyes looking up because she knows she is cute
- how when you ask her to put her book back, or throw something away, or send her to go get something she will do it because she knows what you are asking her to do
- how she still loves to dance
- how she gives the baby belly a kiss
- how she will walk herself into her room to take a nap
- how she still likes to eat most foods
- how she laughs when Jeff is teasing her
- how when she wants something she will point at it and then the palm of her hand
- how much she likes popcorn
- how she says M& M
- watching her read to herself
- the smile she will give you when she wants something
- her hugs, kisses and head nods
- how she likes to walk backwards, partly because we make the beep noise a truck makes, she is starting to say 'beep'!
- watching her watch herself in the mirror
- chasing her around the house.... and around and around... :) She is getting much faster and she will change directions when she hears the floor squeak
- the way she talks to herself and toys when she first wakes up from sleeping

Drum roll please.................

When I got home from work today, Pieper had something to show me... She went potty in the potty!!!!!
Jeff said they were playing and she grabbed her tummy, then her diaper and when he asked her if she wanted to go potty she said yes! As they were looking for just the right book to read she took care of business!!! She was soooo excited to show me, lead me by the hand and squealed with delight, almost as much as I did! :)
We have had the potty hanging around since she was a year old, she has loved to go sit on it and been excited when you have asked her if she is going potty. This last week when she wanted to sit I have been very diligent about taking off her diaper and it looks like it paid off! Now I am not saying she is ready for full fledged potty training but I am excited about the prospect of only one child in diapers at a time in the coming months!

Pieper, how does Mommy stand?

Very funny Daddy.
We had over a foot of snow, everything was closed but our cars look like they are in a garage thanks to Jeff, out early this morning to get them cleaned off and move the cars so our landlord could scoop the driveway out for us. If we could only get the people who live below us to do it... they haven't all season! Was all over by 9AM so we have already had some melting... it is supposed to be around mid 20's tonight so we will keep the snow for a few days.

Doctor appointment

Went very well today. I even lost a pound, they were all concerned but I simple told them all of our Christmas cookies and candy were gone and I don't have to stock up on my sinful foods anymore because I didn't have GD this time around.
Interesting numbers: You must be under 135 to pass
Test with Pieper was 147
Test with Baby was 107
I blame it on all of the sugar I consumed in the weeks before the test! :)
The snow started about three hours ago. Everything is very much covered.
I think the state of CT has declared a state of emergency, not to sure what that really means but tomorrow is Wednesday and I get to work from home so I am okay with that. I will believe the 18" - 24" when I see it but it is looking pretty good so far!

Christmas pictures

Pieper playing with her stocking

Looking out the window with Grandma
Her most favorite toy, a box we received diapers in, we put some of her pillows and stuffed animals in it and she crawls in and sits or reads.

3-D Ultra Sound

All went very well today, the baby put hands in front of face every time the doctor tried to get a picture of the face. Very funny to watch.
Baby is 3lbs 5 oz approximately. No worries about a small baby here! That is something that happens in ladies my age, tiny babies and no 'lung work' which our baby did today very well thank you.
Saw little feet and legs, arms and fingers all moving around trying to get away from the doctor. Well more the nurse than the doctor, I am sure the nurse gave me a few bruises as hard as she was pushing!
Still looks very squished to me but everyone assures me there is enough room in there.
I have my regular check up tomorrow, seems a little silly doesn't it?
Soon I will have to go for stress tests, I lay down with a monitor on the baby and they listen to the heart for anywhere from a half hour to an hour depending on what the baby is doing at the time.
For any of you who might be wondering, I had milk with my supper and hershey kisses for desert and it was wonderful. :)

can't sleep... blast from the past!

Maybe I will have a glass of milk and a few m&m's.... I can do that! :)
We had about 4" today, nice little snow fall, I can say that because I didn't have to drive anywhere!

Results are in....

I passed.... I passed!!!!!!! No poking of the fingers for three months for me!!! Did I mention how happy I am!!!!
I swear it was because I ate so much candy and sweets before the test! With Pieper I was already watching what I ate... Lesson: If you have to take the GD test eat a lot of sweets about three weeks before, your body knows what to do with all of the sugar!!! Hooray!!
Thanks for all of the well wishes everyone, I am sure that helped to!
Below, Piper is not happy because now she doesn't get my share of the cookies!!!!
No really, this is one of her famous tantrums, they really are comical. I don't think we have gotten one where she is throwing herself on the floor yet but I am sure we will have ample opportunity.

Pieper

Talking on the phone to Grandpa, now if we could get her to talk more than she listens it would be great!
Pieper LOVED chex mix. she would take the can off the counter, carry it into where one of us was sitting and begin eating! Pretzels were her favorite this year, after the cheetoes were all gone!

Have I mentioned...

How much I dislike that GD test? Long story short it made for a very long day at work... I think my headache is finally gone... :) Won't bore you with any more details. Should have results by Monday. Yes, I ate cookies tonight and bread with my soup! :)
We are supposed to get some snow tomorrow.... I didn't get the car washed this week so I am sure it will miss us but Jeff assures me we will get some, very much not like me to drive in such a dirty car!
My favorite thing to come home to work to is Jeff and Pieper looking out the window. Who knew walking up stairs to open a door could be so fun! Reminds me of seeing the puppies sitting on a chair in the window at the Hillcrest house. which also reminds me of the time myself, Mom, Dad and Skippy came home from fishing and found another Boston Terrier chained up to the house... someone had thought he must be ours and chained him up, he was a very big dog and Skippy didn't like sharing his house for a few days until we found the real owners..... was his name King...?

27 weeks

GD test is tomorrow...

Outside in the snow

She loved the snow! We stayed outside longer than all of her cousins and went in because I was cold... should have put a coat on I guess!

She fell down in the snow and I couldn't resist the cute snow butt that got up!
Was pretty deep at home, had fresh snow Christmas Eve!
Why do I have to get up mom, my butt isn't cold I am in a diaper!
Talking with Jak and Trevor
This is her first reaction after she looked around when I asked her if she liked snow... yep, she is my daughter! :)
Why can't I walk down the driveway....?

Christmas pictures

She loved to look out the front window with Grandpa, especially after Grandpa turned on the Christmas lights on the outside of the house!

Playing cards with Daddy, yes Jeff has been 'playing' with a beard since Thanksgiving.
Watching Grandma get breakfast

fun pictures

One of the ladies Jeff works with gave Pieper a very large Elmo and she loves it. I am not to sure how she knows who Elmo is, I think she watches Sesame Street with KEM.

General silliness.
When Pieper saw Jeff's Christmas present she had to put it on and walk around the house!
Really Mom do you have to take pictures when I am outside?

Yes, we are still here!

Sorry for the absence, we had a busy couple of weeks.
We drove home for Christmas, two days travel to get there, two days in IA and two days to get back. Busy.
We missed the big storm out here. Roads were 'mostly clear' and very little traffic when we hit New Jersey, that made for a much quicker ride in than normal. We had about 18-24 inches, I don't believe it was only 18". Roads in Greenwich were not so great. normal two lane roads were down to one lane as no one got out to move their cars as the plows went by.... silly. Jeffery scooped out the Buick right away when we got home and we were eating super and drinking hot chocolate by 8:30 Monday night.
I still was able to watch the Hawks win the bowl, I only fell asleep for the third quarter. Very proud, especially since they seem to be the only big ten team that could pull off the win...
Very glad to have a short work week to come back to and we spent the New Year weekend here in Greenwich trying to pick up the house. I am not sure if a small house is better or worse than a big one... even after you clean it still seems full! Just wait a couple of months when the new addition arrives!
I had an appointment last Wednesday. I have to go every two weeks now. Everything is looking great with the exception that I am gaining weight a lot quicker than I did with Pieper! Now I am sure christmas did not help with that but I have to go in for my GD test this week (please pity me) so I am sure that will take care of the weight gain. Not to mention I have been anticipating a positive test so I have tried to eat all of the Christmas cookies in sight as well as some very nice breads. ( the Crumbs cupcake store opened next door to my showroom after a year wait. I have been trying new things every tuesday and thursday) :) YOU only live once!
I will post some pictures soon. Just wanted everyone to know we were here, by the way the snow is already over half gone. Was 40 degrees all weekend! The piles from the plows will last for another month.
