We had some wonderful visitors this month! Aunt Jean and Uncle Rudy were meandering across country and took a side trip to meet Pieper. She was almost asleep when they first arrived but they had quality time to see her on Friday morning. (pictures will follow)
Uncle Joe stopped by on the way back to IA with his new bike. We were sorry his weather was not good but are very glad he made it home. He sat talking with Pieper before she went to bed!
Such excitement for her and she really did a good job. Well she did get hungry when we were at Todd's Point and cried on the way home. :( No fun being in a car with an unhappy baby! But is was only about 10 minutes!
Day light savings didn't mess her up yesterday. We did get up a little earlier. I always worry the littlest thing will make her not sleep and we will be up every four hours again. It really wasn't all that bad, I have no real reason for the worries... :)
She goes down for bed around 6 or so and sleeps until 5 or so. No complaints from me! It makes it hard to go out to dinner... so we don't go. I wouldn't want her overtired at a restaurant!
Our sitter, for the days I leave the house for work, could stay late but as she is new I would like to see how things are before we do that. At this point it is just easier to eat at home... I am sure that will change.
Pieper loves to read! She got a lot of books when she was born and we have story time twice a day. Sometimes she will start reading me the story!! I think she may out talk her mother someday.
Just this morning I was having a donut ( yes! No more gestational diabetes for me!), Pieper had just had breakfast, she grabbed my plate and watched me eat every bite... I would have given her some but Jeffery said it was to sweet! I can not tell a lie, I really would have let her try it. Now I don't want any comments on childhood obesity... it was really cute... I suppose that is how it starts!
We go in to the doctor this week for normal check up, other than a little runny nose she is growing so I don't expect any issues. Her hip ultra sound was just fine as expected. ( i don't remember if I ever told everyone)
My first week back at work went pretty good. I now have a lap top and an Iphone. (jeff plays with both) just trying to get into the grove. I think I will enjoy getting out more once I am used to having Kem (sitter) come into the house. I will work about two days outside of home, that is what I have planned at the moment, it may increase as I travel... it is all a work in progress.
Jeff has taken a new job as well. He will still be able to take his actuarial exams and more for his new position, it is still in the same building, just a different company. (WR Berkley owns a few different ones) He is very excited. Of course sad to be leaving Frank his boss, he has taught him a lot and is a really great guy but onward and upward! I am a little sad because there was talk of the Fac Re (old company) moving some actuaries to Chicago... much closer to home but time will tell... :)
On that note: HOW 'BOUT THEM HAWKEYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't tell you how much a little thing like seeing the game almost every week as been, it makes it much easier to be so far away... do you feel a pitch for getting the big ten network coming on... maybe!
Was great to have the visitors this month and we are looking forward to thanksgiving time when we will be home.
Pieper sends a smile...
