Play ball!
Pete pulled himself up last night on the couch! He was going after the toilet paper roll. (I use it on the kids noses and have them placed strategically around the house) I think if I could figure out how to make that into a toy I could retire a rich person!
We have had a couple of sleepless nights with the colds we all seem to have. Peter will wake Pieper up and vise versa, I am trying vicks on Pieper this morning so we will see how it works and then try it tonight in hopes of better sleep for all.
We have some cold weather this week at last. It was around 20 when we woke up this morning, clear beautiful skies.
Looks like good weather for the weekend!!!
On a side note... half of the beard came off this morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ha ha!

This is what happens when your flight is canceled and you got up early and you get to stay another day. You take a nap.

She was almost in a trance watching Olivia playing her viola. She sat so still for the whole song and Liv played several!

Pieper 2 years and 5 months

I have always made the baby food, I am to cheap to go buying jarred food and I do think it has to be better for them...
tonight I was making carrots for Pete and while 'tapping' the ice cube tray so the food would level out and be even ( i seem to need to have them look pretty in the freezer) it splashed all over me... of course I cussed out loud because that was something at my age I should know better than to do...
well my tape recorder of a daughter was standing behind me... you know the rest.
At least i was swearing in German so it isn't like a lot of people are going to understand her if she says it, although as she repeated it 6 times right after I said it I could understand her very clearly as I am sure my sisters will. She is very good at saying 'darn it' so this made me think I should write down a few things she says that make me laugh:
Darn it. (Jeff does not like this...)
Mommy okay back there? (as I am chasing her around the house)
mmm mmm mmm when Pete goes to touch something (this is from an Olivia cartoon, the mom said it to the baby brother as he was grabbing something he shouldn't)

Little man, in referring to Pete because that is what I call him.
She still calls herself Doodle but knows her name is Pieper.

When Jeff is driving and he accelerates quickly (this happens a lot) Go faster... rooom!
When she says goodbye on the phone or skype she must 'tickle tickle'

That is all I can remember off the top of my head.

I was thinking today some things my Mom and Dad did or said when I was growing up... I finally understand it.
When dad told us to be quiet so he could hear the news... I always thought I was being quiet.
When they told me to go play outside, I now know why...
Dad always used to say 'I had nice things before I had kids" My nice things are now in boxes. Hopefully not to be broken before I can use them again!
This makes me laugh, I know what comes next and I smile.

Not to sure about the 'tractor' ride.

Of course if I had fixed her hat it may have helped!

We took a walk

This is a bench that sits in front of the 'ruins' where we were married. Pieper calls it our 'snack bench' because of course we stop to have our snack while we are walking.



These pictures are taken around 11:30 in the morning. It was just a strange group of clouds that day that made it look like sunrise/sunset all day.

Looking out window is always fun.
