Pieper 3 years 7 months
She likes to dress herself. She layers. A lot.
Still helps set the table and pour the milk, always wants to help get super ready but I don't let her do that very often. When I bake both kids HAVE to help so I have a chair on each side... baking takes a lot longer than it used to!
Likes to shovel the snow off the grass.
Is better at playing with Pete and not trying to get him into trouble, most days.
Always worries when he cries.
Likes to compare herself to cousin Olivia and our neighbor Carolina, and how someday she will be that big.
If she likes something, like my shirt or jewelry she will say how she will have that when she gets bigger.
Likes to put her hands on her hips and ask 'whats going on in here? ' or 'that's not right'... I am sure you get the idea.
Stomps off to her room... I think I will blame Aunt Karla for that one... :) she kept shutting and locking her door so Jeff took the door knob off... problem solved.
She loves to go shopping, doesn't matter what for and she has more fun if we leave Pete at home.
I think it is safe to say Princess Sofia is her favorite show right now, way to go Disney.
Likes to drink in an open cup with a straw, if you don't give her the straw she will get one for herself and Pete.
Sometimes when she walks around the house she looks 16...
This is a shirt I had when I was little, not sure if it was mine for my sisters first, it is from a school we went to when we lived in Iowa City(where I was born). Pieper puts it on and yells GO HAWKS, it IS black and gold... :) Brainwashed.

Pete 22 Months
He likes to fill his own water glass and will get very upset if you don't let him
He is good at puzzles
He likes to chase and be chased
He loves to brush his teeth
I think Pieper is his favorite person and 'mama' runs a very close second
If you look under something like a chair, he will always look with you
he throws a nice tantrum
Still loves to dance
Will tell you when his hands are cold but won't complain about it
He does not sleep through the night
He holds his own with Pieper
He likes to get into the kitchen cabinets
He will help you do anything, pick up, put something where you tell him to, and try to give Pieper kisses at bedtime. He starts by smacking his lips...
Always wants a blue M&M
Likes to pour any liquid from container to container, including his milk
Likes to build with blocks
Still follows Pieper around and will do a lot of what she tells him to do, right or wrong!
Growing well if maybe a little to fast for me somedays.

As I speak
Pieper is calling Pete her little puppy, patting him on the head, getting him to chase balls and drink from a watering can that Grandma gave them....
They are both calling shadows ghosts, imagine what this is doing to bedtime.
We made our first snowman today, Magenta is the name and I forgot how hard it is to lift a large snowball on top of another one!
Today Pete took his nap without me holding him after an hour... yes, I know it is a very bad habit. One we are trying to break. As you can imagine, night time is not a quick thing.
Pete is not afraid to tell Pieper 'NO' or anyone else for that matter!
Just because our 5th Anniversary was the 12th and the flowers that Jeff ordered for me came today with no reason as to why they were not delivered on time. Our first married kiss, how does time go by so fast. Don't we look young? I guess you look young before kids!

Pieper 3years 6 months
She is more independent every day.
She will let you know if you are doing something naughty.
She asks a lot of questions and will remember the answer.
Likes to keep us updated as to what Peter is doing.
Is afraid of the dark sometimes.
Will help clean the house and fold the clothes.
Likes her new snow boots.
First things she did when we got home and went outside was make a snow angle (two) in the snow.
Always wants cupcakes... we haven't had any since her birthday.
If you ate an M & M or something like it she will say "I smell something... maybe chocolate... can I please have some.
On that point, if there is something she wants she will pour on the sugar... pretty please can I have some, I am a good girl...ect... yes, it is very sad... in a very funny way.
Sometimes she butts heads with both Jeff and I and it is not very fun...wow we are in for it!
She has outgrown most of her pants... leaps and bounds with her and growing.
She will tell Pete to do something that she has just gotten into trouble for, this is pretty funny to hear.

Peter 21 months
We really thought he would be babbling non stop but he says a lot more words, no more pointing but then it is hard to get a word in when Pieper is around. He will sometimes sing a song...well hum a song.
He still is a dancer.
He likes fruit and crunchy foods over almost anything else, some days he eats a lot, other days hardly anything. Loves chocolate milk.
He had a week where he was sleeping a lot and now his shoes and pants don't fit so we had a nice bit of growth.
He had and easy smile that pops out all day long, nothing better than the first smile of the morning...
He likes to follow Pieper around the house, always.
He loves to talk to Grandpa on the phone.
He still likes to put things in things... anything any hole anywhere.
He likes to help take Christmas tree lights off the tree... just ask Grandma.
He will throw a fit if he doesn't get something he wants... he wanted to turn on the lights on the tree (Jeff holds him up to do it) it was a little out of my reach so I did it for him... one would have thought I took his blanket away... life as he knew it was truly over.

Yes, we had snow for Christmas in CT
Yes, we went home to Iowa for the holiday...
Yes, we did get stuck in Iowa City overnight as the 'blizzard' hit, I was glad to make it that far. We had sat on the road behind and accident for almost two hours in Il.
Yes, the kids were fantastic and the hotel was the best place ever to get stuck, a lot of Christmas trees and party rooms to explore for kids and parents to run around after ten or eleven hours in the car... I blocked out how long it was!
Yes, it took us five hours to get from Iowa City to Atlantic and Jeff did all of the driving.
We had to cancel a few dates to see friends as everything was messed up by the extra travel day but we had a great time as usual in Iowa. I will bore you with some pictures of our driving because I can and what is not to like about fresh snow drifts along the interstate?!
It was a beautiful drive, they had a lot more snow on the east side of the state vs. the west so the end of the drive was quicker! One of the books Pieper has uses trees with a lot of snow on them as 'snow bears' so we had a lot of fun looking for the 'bears' in the ditch.
