Pieper 22 months

She is a very helpful big sister; she gets blankets, diapers, socks, wipes, lotion... just about anything she can when asked. She is invaluable to her mama.
She still loves to read, she is better at reading by herself now which is really fun to watch.
She likes to help you pick out what clothes she should wear that day.
Loves bubbles and playing in the water (or helping water the plants)!
She did great at the beach Saturday... we walked out past our knees... well her knees and she loved it, her new aqua shoes stayed on, I had my doubts!
Not to sure if we are to one or two naps a day... depends on the day.
She has been having nightmares at night, not to sure what they are about but most times she will go back to sleep on her own if I can wait, last night I went in and 'woke' her up. Not every night but enough to comment on.
Still loves to open drawers, not Jeff's anymore so the mess is easier to pick up. She like Peter's drawers now.
I have a few shirts of hers that are in Peter's clothes now and she likes to bring them out to show me that she knows they were hers first. She has started letting me use her blankets for Peter... for a short time, she always knows which ones are hers and which are Peter's.
She likes Mickey Mouse, Donald is her favorite to see show up on the screen and she love to do the hot dog dance at the end with mom. I would have to go with Olivia being her favorite cartoon show, if it is on she is in a trance.... I have learned to LOVE that show! :)
Her night time routine is pretty good, she will go down anywhere from 8 to 9:30 depending on the day.
She likes to sit on the potty for about 10 seconds and then she is done so needless to say we have not gotten very far with the potty training but if truth be told I haven't been trying very hard either!
She loves to look out the windows. She will go get her potty to stand on and put it under the window, (or get on the couch) it was made to stand on and this all came about when I took away her red plastic chair... she was turning all of the lights on and getting into things she shouldn't in the kitchen so it is now in the closet in the front room!
She is starting to not like some foods... nothing specific, she just leaves some on her plate... or rather her tray... she has a habit of picking up her plate and pouring all of the food onto her tray and eating it like that. She is kind enough to hand me the plate.... I don't care for this tradition very much.
She loves ice cubes. If you have a glass anywhere with ice cubes in it she will get one without fail.
She counts to 12 and has started to sing her ABC's.
She knows the color red and blue but sometimes mixes them up.
She is becoming a tape recorder...
She loves going for walks and going to the beach. :) Water baby I hope.
She gets the milk out a the fridge for you to give her a glass.
She gets her yogart and spoon when she is ready for a snack, sometime she asks, sometimes not.
Please is 'peeezzze' thank you is 'done' not quite sure how that one happened.

Peter 8 week picture and things

8 weeks

Peter was eight weeks old yesterday.
He laughs and smiles all the time.
His eyes are still blue, a gray blue....
He rolls over everyday.
Most of his spots are better, they come and go but he has cradle cap.
He still has blond hair.
He loves to watch Pieper move around.
He is still sleeping until 1 or 2 am and getting up around 5 or 6 am, we know how lucky we are!
He loves tummy time and taking a bath.
He has started to chew, I won't say we feel any teeth but he is chewing...
Growing, growing, growing...

Sorry for the funny post, I turned in my work computer Tuesday and was trying to post from the ipad... still have some learning to do... :)

Gray days

We have had four days of rainy weather and this morning has started out foggy... Ice cream cone eating weather will be here soon! :)

My Birthday

This week Jeff has been in Chicago, he comes back tonight and everyone is looking forward to having him home. The week has flown by, I feel like I have been running around like a sales person at christmas! :)

While I didn't get to go out for dinner on my birthday ( a much loved tradition) Pieper and Peter were very well behaved and even gave me 30 minutes to eat my lemon chicken in relative peace! We had a good day despite the rain and all in all it was a very nice, all be it quiet birthday. :) I didn't make my cake as I would have probably thought I had to eat the whole thing so I will make it this weekend, I had chocolate and strawberries instead so it was very close to my chocolate feathery fudge cake! How I love that cake!

Jeff and I are going out for dinner this Saturday sans children, I am looking forward to it, now I just have to pick where we are going! Being in Greenwich there is not a shortage of places to pick from... I am thinking Polpo, it makes me think I am sitting in a Godfather movie.... and the food is fantastic! [ Well from memory, we haven't been there for a couple of years! Lobster to die for... look out husband! :) ]

Overdue... Peter's baby shower

This is Pieper and I on the way to the baby shower that Jeff's boss Melissa had for Peter before he was born, I had forgotten the camera so these were on my phone... lets consider this a walk down memory lane!

Melissa bought Pieper an Aardvark... Peter received the smaller size of the same toy!

She really enjoyed walking on the heaters in the meeting room!

She did not want to smile at Daddy while he took our picture...

We didn't have one of the play mats for Pieper, I just used a makeshift one but with Pieper running around we decided to get one for Peter and he LOVES it. He also still loves being on his tummy.

Please note Pieper in the background with my computer... she is not supposed to have it but she does get it from time to time and loves to open it and type even when it isn't on... she will even grab the mouse and 'click' it.

Mother's day

We went to brunch and walked down the avenue for some gelato, this is a door(one of three) of a church that I have always liked. Peter is asleep with Dad in the car seat so this Mama didn't wake him up for a picture!

Friday 13th... really... Peter is 7 weeks

Peter's doctors appointment went well. He is now 12lbs 6 oz. had to weigh him twice as the nurse didn't think that was possible compared to what he was at last appointment. I just told her Pieper was the same and I am not worried he is eating to much... if you will remember I had to take Pieper in several times because of her weight... I am not doing that kind of running the second time! AH HA! I sound like an experienced mom! :)

He is 22" long, I think that is 50% for boys on both counts.

Peter has 'spots', I just thought it was dry skin or baby acne or something... well the doctor doesn't know what it is either! Nothing serious he just looks like a pink leopard. :) (very small spots) They come and go, she thought I should try a different detergent but she isn't to concerned either.

He only cried a little when he got his shots and he even smiled at both the doctor and the nurse. A complete showoff at picking up his head and even tried to crawl, we have another performer on our hands!

He has been sleeping since we have been home.

Pieper went and spent some quality time with Jeff at work, I didn't want her to see Peter get his shots, she already doesn't like them as it is and I am pretty sure she would not like seeing Peter get poked!

All in all we are doing well.

I have sent an email to both of my bosses to let them know I will not come back to work full time... we shall see if they come back with anything. I am not expecting anything from them but the whole thing is official now!

Side note:

Pieper loved helping me make muffins yesterday! She poured the powder ingredients into the bowl while standing on her potty. She figured that one out all by herself and now she drags it from one place to the other around the house. Peeking out windows and reaching farther onto counters and things...

Who needs the funnies...

Yesterday Pieper got up from bed around 5 and wanted to get into our bed.... more the merrier... anywho, Jeff started to snore... so Pieper very quietly started to fake snore. I started laughing so hard my belly was shaking.

Last night I told Pieper she had 5 minutes until bedtime... she comes up to me and says; "5 min ( with her hand spread wide) no, no... nigh nigh room" and points to her room, I say "you don't want to wait 5 minutes...? you want to go to bed now...?" " yep" was her answer and off to bed we went! :)

As you can see she wasn't in the mood to sit for a picture on this particular day. Pretty sure you get the point of how much she has grown.

Sharing

Pieper was kind enough to share her puppy with Peter. She has a very hard time staying off of the blankets when Peter is on the floor, she has found out if she shares her toys with him mom doesn't get as worked up about her being on the blanket!

That is where she placed puppy (and grinch) and Peter seemed to enjoy talking with him!

My sleeping babies

Peter is a good sleeper. Last night he slept for 5 hours. He wakes up VERY hungry but he normally goes right back to sleep for a while! He still smiles a lot and usually has one or two meltdowns a day that don't really last all that long.Hard to imagine why she feel out of bed the other night isn't it? Please note the pillows on the floor to soften her landing. :) She is a champ, she sleeps in the bed always, for nap time and bedtime. We are working on one nap a day, it is a bit of a struggle. She is a good sleeper at night. We have had a few nightmares this last week, not to sure what that is about but sometimes she goes right back down, other times I sit with her and find a black and white movie and she is ready to go back to bed in about 15 minutes. I am not sure why black and white works but it has since she was very little, if it works don't break it!

This is Pieper's wedding day outfit (the prince & princess) I got it because I thought she would think it was fun but I don't think it mattered to her much. She did enjoy waving at the people after the wedding and watching the horses pull the carriage! Very cute.

Pieper 21 months

Is acting like a two year old.

Yesterday she opened up the 'diaper paste' and had it all over her hands, after all the stuffed monkey needed some on his bottom before she put a diaper on him. She tries to diaper all of her animals.

Today after breakfast she decided to give her hands the 'chocolate' treatment. I had left the Nutella on the counter after her morning toast... I guess that is a lot cheaper than going to a spa for a treatment!

She is very good with Peter so for that I am grateful. She helps get what I need for him, like a blanket or diaper and kisses him very softly.

She is still in her big girl bed... that was down right easy all things considered.

We bought her a size 7-1/2" wide sandal yesterday.

She likes to smell flowers and pick them.

She likes to run.

She likes rocks.

She likes Mickey, Donald and Handy Manny but I am pretty sure she would give them all up for Olivia. I like all of the above as well, gives me some time to do random things, yep, I am one of those Mom's who lets their child watch tv. :)

She loves her wooden blocks.

She started tearing the pages of her paper books this last week so I had to put them all up, mom says it is a phase and she will soon be done with it soon.

She loves yogurt, milk, lima beans, tomatoes, pasta, chocolate, M&M's, green beans, apples, pears, pineapple, avocado, popcorn, cheese... just to name a few.

She will count to ten if you count behind her.

She likes to lay in her bed and read. ( or on the couch)

She still likes to empty drawers.

She still likes to 'cheers' when drinking.

Has grown taller in a month, we keep a tally on the wall on a some material. She loves to stand next to the wall and get measured, she tries to measure her animals.

Loves to ride on her rocking horse and she can really get it rocking!
