Spring Break 2017

Gillette Castle.

 View from terrace.

 Grand Central.  He made a rail road around his property with several stops.

 A lot of walking trails.

 Could walk the old RR tracks. Total of 3 miles.  We did not do the whole walk today.

 Yep, we saw 3 snakes.  Pete was thrilled. Mom, not so much.

 Lots of turtles too!

His engine.  It used 20-30 batteries.  Made to look like a steam engine but not... Mini size!

William Hooker Gillette, built the castle, it has wooden handles and hinges. He was most famous for his role of Sherlock Holmes (on stage)!!!  Castle was closed today but we will be back!  Supposed to be pretty quirky inside!
We had a good fun day.  I can not believe it has been over a year.... :)
